CALENDAR:

We have just a few short weeks left. Seniors especially please come talk to me about any work you haven't turned in and we can talk strategy.

Please do NOT throw work at me online and say "Here" (Since I have absolutely no way of knowing whether you did the work {or not})

WORK O' THE DAY:

You will be turning in your rocket project at the end of class today.

The first part of your packet is your drawing--

Please make double sure that your rocket design drawing is:

• drawn to scale (1:1)

• the scale is indicated in the corner (or somewhere prominently displayed) on your drawing

• All unique lines have a measurement in inches or centimeters (but not both)

• All straight lines are drawn using a straight edge

Please have a colleague in your group review your rocket design to make suggestions, edits etc...

The second part of your drawing includes both science and reflection writing.

• Please provide an engineering drawing (to scale) of the rocket section of your rocket. That should be done on a 1/2 page.

  • Beneath your drawing on the 2nd half of the page please provide an engineering/scientific explanation for how that engine propelled your rocket off the launch pad.
  • Best works will include references to Newton's 3rd Law in a way that makes it clear you understand that law.
• Please provide a second page that contains the following comments and/or reflection that utilizes Claim/Evidence/Reasoning:

  What aspect of your rocket design/production worked well?

  • Make a claim (1 - 2 full and complete sentences)
  • Back that claim up with evidence from your work (1 - 2 full and complete sentences)
  • Present your reasoning (2 - 3 full and complete sentences)
